Beef Strips and Mushrooms in Wine Recipe

1/2 c of flour
1/8 tsp of pepper
1 tsp of salt
1/2 c of scallions; chopped
4 lbs of beef sirloin tips; cut into strips
2 c of mushrooms (4oz can); sliced & strained
1 canned broth of beef (condensed, 10.5 oz)
2 tsps of tomato paste (or catsup)
1/4 c of dry red wine
1 buttered noodles
3 Tbsps of flour
1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce

Mix salt, pepper and half cup of flour in a bowl. Add in the beef to evenly coat. Toss seasoned beef into the crockpot together with mushrooms and scallions. Set aside.

Combine the broth with tomato paste (or catsup), and Worcestershire sauce. Whisk ’til smooth. Pour this over the veggies and beef. Stir ’til well-blended.

Cover with lid. Set heat to low. Cook ’til beef is tender (approximately 8-10 hours), stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, dissolve 3 Tbsps of flour in dry red wine. Stir this into the beef mixture about an hour prior to cooking completely.

Stir occasionally for the rest of the cooking time – may be more or less depending on desired consistency. Ladle some of the mixture over egg. May also be served with steamed rice.
