Crockpot-baked Ham Recipe


Crockpot-baked Ham Recipe

3-4 lb pre-cooked ham
1/2 cup of water
A sprig of parsley
1 Tbsp of maple syrup
1 tsp of Liquid Smoke (optional)

Wrap the ham in aluminum foil. Lay a rack at the bottom of the crockpot. Place the ham on top of the rack. Add a tsp of liquid smoke (optional).

Pour about half a cup of water into the crockpot underneath the rack. Cover the crockpot and then cook on high for about an hour.

Remove from the aluminum foil and transfer to a serving platter. Slice thinly. Pour maple syrup over the ham and garnish with a sprig of parsley.

Black-Eyed Peas and Ham Dip Recipe


Black-Eyed Peas and Ham Dip Recipe

1 bag black-eyed peas (16 oz); pre-soaked according to package instructions & dried
1 ham hock (small)
1 canned of tomatoes (with jalapenos, 14.5 oz); diced
1 canned of tomatoes (with green chilies mild, 14.5 oz); diced
2 canned broth of chicken (10.5 oz)
1 rib of celery; sliced
Salt & pepper

Mix together black-eyed peas, ham hock, tomatoes with jalapenos, tomatoes with green chilies, chicken broth, chopped celery, salt and pepper in a crockpot. Stir well. Cover with lid.

Set heat to low. Cook ’til peas are according to your desired tenderness (about 6-8 hours). Serve with tortilla, potato chips, or steamed rice.

Ham and Bean Crockpot Soup Recipe


Ham and Bean Crockpot Soup Recipe

1 lb of white beans (small)
8 cup of water
1 cup of onion; chopped
1 cup of celery; diced
2 Tbsps of parsley; minced
1 tsp of salt
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp of ground black pepper
2 cup of ham; sliced

Pour water into the crockpot. Toss in the white beans, ham, onions, celery, parsley, salt, pepper and bay leaf. Mix well. Cover with lid. Set heat to low. Cook ’til beans become tender (8-10 hours).

Red Rice Recipe


Red Rice Recipe

4-6 bacon slices, fry them up and crumble
1/2-1 c. of ham, cooked & chopped
1 big onion, chopped coarse
2 (15-oz.) cans of tomatoes, chopped
1/8 tsp. of hot sauce for seasoning
1 c. of rice (converted)
Pepper & salt for seasoning

Bacon should be fried then drained well & crumble them up. Onions should then be cooked in excess fat from the bacons until they turn soft. Mix together all the ingredients inside your Crockpot. Cook covered at low settings for about 6-7 hrs. until the rice becomes soft but they shouldn’t be mushy.

Makes 6-8 servings

Stewed Chicken and Ham with Beans Recipe


Stewed Chicken and Ham with Beans Recipe

2 c of Ham; cubed & cooked
3 pcs of potatoes; cut into small cubes
2 canned tomatoes (16 oz); sliced
10 oz of corn (whole kernel)
10 oz of Lima beans
1 tsp of sugar
1/4 tsp of ground black pepper
1/2 tsp of seasoned salt
2 qts of water
1 whole chicken (3 lbs); cut into pieces
1 pc of onion; sliced
2 tsps of salt

Pour 2 qts of water into the crockpot. Toss in the chicken pieces, onions, potatoes and ham. Cover with lid. Set the control to low. Cook for 4-5 hours ’til chicken is tender.

When cooked, take out the chicken pieces from the crockpot. Detach the bones from the meat. Discard bones and put the meat back to the crockpot.

Toss in the tomatoes, corn kernels, Lima beans, seasoned salt, pepper and sugar. Stir well. Cover with lid; and then cook on low for 2 hours more.

Black Bean Chowder Recipe


Black Bean Chowder Recipe

2 pcs of onion; sliced
2 garlic cloves; sliced
3 Tbsps of butter
1 lb of black beans; soaked overnight & drained
1 rib of celery; chopped
1 bay leaf
1/2 c of sherry/dry white wine
Salt & pepper
1 ham bone

Place a medium-sized nonstick saucepan with butter over medium heat. When the butter melts, saute the garlic and onions. Remove from heat once the onions are transparent and the garlic is light brown. Transfer to the crockpot.

Toss the ham bone, black beans, chopped celery, and bay leaf into the crockpot, as well. Pour in some water (2 quarts). Cover with lid. Turn the crockpot control to high setting.

Cook for about 2 hours. Reduce the heat to low. Stir well. Cover and cook for another 8-10 hours stirring occasionally.

When done, take out the bay leaf and ham bone. Puree the soup using a blender or food processor. Transfer the pureed soup back to the crockpot. Stir in salt, sherry, and ground black pepper. Mix well. Cover and cook it on low for another hour.

Ladle the mixture into individual soup bowls, and garnish with a sprig of parsley. May be topped with sliced (or chopped) eggs, and may be served with lemon slice.

Crockpot Split Pea Soup Recipe


Crockpot Split Pea Soup Recipe

1 (16-oz.) package of rinsed dried split peas
2 c. of ham, diced OR
2 pcs. meaty ham hocks OR
1 pc. hambone
1 medium chopped onion
2 pcs. chopped celery stalks
1 pc. bay leaf
1-2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 cup chopped parsley (fresh)
A tbsp. of salt (seasoned)
1.5 qts. of warm water
Half a teaspoon of freshly ground pepper

Place all the ingredients inside your Crockpot in layers then add in the water. Don’t stir. Cook, covered, at high settings for 4-5 hrs. or if cooking at low settings then 8-10 hrs. just until the peas become soft & the ham starts to fall off from the bone.

Take out the bones & bay leaf. This dish is best served with some croutons as garnishing. The dish can also be stored inside your freezer.

Slow-Cooker Creamy Scalloped Potatoes and Ham Recipe


Slow-Cooker Creamy Scalloped Potatoes and Ham Recipe

3 pounds of medium-sized peeled & sliced potatoes
1/2 c. of water
1 pc. chopped onions
1 (10 3/4-oz.) can of low-fat soup (cream of mushroom)
1 c. of cheese (cheddar), shredded
1 c. of ham, cooked

Mix together ham, cheese, onions & potatoes inside your crockpot. In a bowl, mix together water & soup then pour this over the potato mix.

Cook covered at high settings for about 4 hrs. or just until the potatoes become tender. Make sure to blend the dish well prior to serving.

This recipe serves 6.

Crockpot Sweet Ham Recipe


Crockpot Sweet Ham Recipe

1/4 c of cola (Coca Cola or Pepsi, etc)
3-4 lb of ham (pre-cooked)
1/2 c of sugar (brown)
1 tsp of dry mustard

Combine the sugar, mustard, and cola in a large bowl. Whisk well ’til smooth. Slit shallow diamond patterns on top of the ham. Dredge it in the mustard and cola marinade.

Transfer all ingredients into crockpot. Cover with lid. Cook ham on low for 8-10 hours.

Broccoli and Ham Casserole Recipe


Broccoli and Ham Casserole Recipe

1 pkg of broccoli (16 oz); sliced coarsely & drained
1 jar of processed cheese sauce (8 oz)
1 canned cream of mushroom soup (condensed); not diluted
1 c of rice (instant); uncooked
1 rib of celery; diced
1 pc of onion (small); sliced
1 c of evaporated milk
3 c of fully-cooked ham; cubed

Mix the ham and broccoli in the crockpot. Set aside. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the undiluted cream of mushroom, processed cheese sauce, rice, onion, milk and celery ’til blended well.

Pour it over the ham and broccoli. Stir well. Cover with lid. Set the crockpot control to low. Cook ’til rice becomes tender (4-5 hours).
