Crockpot Chili con Carne Recipe VII
1 Tbsp of butter
3 Tbsps of shortening
2 c of onion; minced
2 cloves garlic; pound
3 cubes of beef bouillon; crushed
4 Tbsps of chili powder
1.5 tsps of paprika
1 tsp of ground cumin
1 tsp of oregano
1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper
1 canned tomatoes (28 oz)
1 canned tomato paste (8 oz)
1/2 c of beef stock
4 canned red kidney beans (1 lb each)
4 lbs of ground beef
Place a nonstick skillet with butter over medium heat. When butter melts, saute garlic and onion for one minute. Add beef, saute ’til light brown.
Transfer to crockpot together with the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Cover with lid. Set heat to low. Cook ’til beans are tender (about 8-10 hours), stirring occasionally.
