Green Bean And Potato Casserole Recipe
2 (16-oz.) pkg of frozen beans (green), cut up OR
6 c. of beans (green), cut up & freshly trimmed
4-6 med. potatoes (red-skin), cut into 1/4-inch pcs.
1 pc. sliced big onion
1 tsp. dill weed (dried)
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
A can of soup (cream of mushroom or any cream soup will do) OR
1 c. of home-made cheese sauce, veloute or white sauce
Margarine
Get your slow cooker then slightly grease it with some margarine or butter. Arrange in layers the beans, onions and potatoes while also sprinkling pepper, salt & dill weed.
Place dots of margarine or butter (1 tbsp.) and pour over around 2 tbsps. water. Cook, covered, at high settings for around 4 hrs. and if cooking on low, then 8 hrs.
Next, the dish should be stirred for a while then decrease cooking heat to low settings then cook another 30 mins. or you can leave it at Warm settings just until it is time to serve (4 hrs.).
This dish makes 6-8 servings. You can also add bacon bits for additional flavors
