Impromptu Apple Quiche Recipe
10 bread slices; cubed (4 cups)
1/2 tsp of cinnamon
1/4 tsp of nutmeg
1/8 tsp of salt
3/4 c of brown sugar
1/2 c of butter/margarine; melted
3 lbs of cooking apples
Rinse and skin apples. Remove core. Slice into 8 wedges. Lay the sliced apples at the bottom of the crockpot.
Meanwhile, in a medium-sized bowl, mix the cubed bread slices with nutmeg, cinnamon, butter, sugar, and salt. Toss well to coat evenly.
Place this on top of the apples. Cover the crockpot; and cook the mixture on low for 2-4 hours. May be transferred to a platter and chilled after cooking.
