Swiss Cheese Scalloped Potatoes Recipe
2 lbs. peeled & sliced thin potatoes for baking
3 tbsps. sliced in 1/8-inch pcs.
1/4 c. of green onions, chopped fine (only if desired)
1/2 c. of milk
2 tbsps. flour (all purpose)
1/2 c. of yellow onions, chopped fine
1/4 teaspoon of salt
3 tbsps. butter, sliced in 1/8-inch pcs.
1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg (ground)
1/2 c. of milk
3 ozs. slices of cheese (swiss), broken in small pcs.
Layer 1/2 of potatoes & 1/4 c. of onions inside your crockpot then sprinkle 1/8 tsp. each of nutmeg and butter then finish with 1 tbsp. dots of butter. Do the same layers still.
Cook covered at low settings for 7 hrs. and if cooking at high settings, then cook time is only 4 hrs. Take potatoes out and drain them well then place them on serving platters.
In a bowl, mix together flour and milk until it smoothens then add it to your Crockpot. Then, add in cheese and stir well.
If at low settings increase it at high then continue to cook it covered until sauce thickens (10 mins.) Add in the cheesy mixture on your potatoes then serve. Finish with a garnishing of green onions (chopped)
